Clothing
With June marking the start of summer, it’s the perfect time to switch to short-sleeved shirts, tank tops, and sandals. To minimize sun exposure, consider applying sunscreen regularly or wearing UV-resistant clothing. Keep in mind that Osaka experiences its rainy season from June to July, often with frequent showers.
Language
Japanese is the official language in Osaka, Japan, and is the only language spoken by the vast majority of the population. Yet, Japan is relatively English-friendly in touristy areas or in major cities like Osaka or Tokyo. You will find plenty of English signs and romaji translations, which are the roman spellings of Japanese words.

Electricity
The voltage used throughout Japan is uniformly 100 volts, A.C. There are two kinds of frequencies in use—50 Hertz in eastern Japan and 60 Hertz in western Japan (including Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka). It is relatively easy to find devices such as conversion plugs and transformers. They are sold in electronics quarters such as Osaka’s Nipponbashi, or at major home appliance mass retailers such as Yodobashi Camera or Bic Camera.
